Ministries

CHILDREN'S MINISTRIES:
The children of the church are included in worship as the pastor has a Children's Corner message just for them every Sunday. We also have "Movie Time with Pastor Grant" as the youngest children gather with the pastor to watch a cartoon video, eat popcorn, sing and pray together.

YOUTH MINISTRIES:
We sponsor a wide range of youth activities including mission outreach opportunities, camping and retreats, lock ins, fun nights, and wide variety of "hands on" experiences. Confirmation is an important part of our youth ministries and our Pastor teaches the 7th and 8th graders prior to their confirmation in the spring of their 8th grade year.

SUNDAY SCHOOL:
Cedar Church offers Sunday School for children who are preschool through 6th grade. The pastor offers a class for youth and adults during the Sunday School hour.

UNITED METHODIST WOMEN:
The United Methodist Women of Cedar are quite active and meet for monthly gatherings. The Pastor assists in this ministry by offering a Bible Study for this group about six times a year. The women support a variety of mission endeavors including Alexandra House of Blaine. They also host basket weaving classes and the highligh of their year is their annual Fall Retreat.

UNITED METHODIST MEN:
The Men's Group meets monthly for breakfast, has mid-week program meetings about four times a year, assists in "hands on" projects around the church, supports the elderly in the congregation, hosts a weekly early morning Bible Study/Prayer Group with the pastor and does short term mission outreach programs.

VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL:
Cedar hosts a wonderful Vacation Bible School each summer. This week long program is well organized and meets from 9 am to Noon. They gather early in August and VBS is always open to the children and youth of the community.

DAY CAMP:
Cedar began a Day Camp last year for the children of the church and community. The focus includes Bible Stories, movies, crafts, games, outings and lots of fun.

ADULT FELLOWSHIP:
Cedar members and friends are invited to a monthly fellowship breakfast which is held at the Ham Lake VFW the first Thursday of every month at 8:00 am. This group also hosts card playing and fellowship activities.

MUSIC:
The Cedar Church has three ongoing choirs and a band. The choirs are for children and youth, plus our wonderful sanctuary choir. We also have a small band (guitar, bass guitar, African drum, piano) which leads worship on Sunday mornings.
